CCH, Nursing Division and DTAM of Thailand successfully co-organized the “Workshop of Dementia Long-term Care for Community Nurses”
From July 17th to 20th, 2023 CCH worked with Nursing Division and Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM), Ministry of Public Health of Thailand to co-organize the “Workshop of Dementia Long-term Care for Community Nurses Neuro-Cognitive Screening Test for Dementia”. We invited Dr. Khwanchai Visithanon, Deputy Director-General of DTAM, to be the opening keynote speaker. We also invited Dr. Wen-Fu Wang, Vice superintendent of Lukang Christian Hospital, and Dr. Yun-Tai Chen, Chinese Medicine Department of Changhua Christian Hospital as speakers to share the experience of promoting long-term care in Taiwan. Ms. Oran Kuha, Institution of Geriatric Medicine and Dr. Ratiorn Pornkuna, Head of Geriatric Center, Khon Kaen Hospital, as speakers to introduce dementia policy in Thailand and share the innovation of drug therapy for elderly with dementia in Khon Kaen Province. For workshop the participants are from Thai Traditional Medical Innovation Center (TTMIC), Faculty of Medicine Ramathiboldi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok Hospital, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS), Semitivej Hospital, Hatyai Hospital, Khunhan Hospital of Thailand, nearly 100 Thai medical and health professionals to attend online and onsite. In addition to hold a long-term workshop, we also visited local day-care centers, Ministry of Public Health, and Khunhan Hospital of Thailand, to share experience of dementia and long-term care between Taiwan and Thailand.
