Calendar events-2020

  • On January 8th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO and Ms. Tsai Wan-Ting, the Project Manager of Overseas Medical Mission Center of CCH visited Smart Biomedical Devices Flagship Center of Mental Industries Research and Development Center, and discussed New South-bond Program cooperation for industry matchmaking and learning tour.
  • On January 15th, overseas Medical Mission Center and Institutional Review Board co-hosted the 2019 year-end party to acknowledge the IRB committee members and medical volunteers who joined overseas medical service in 2019 for their selflessness contribution.
  • On January 16th, Ms. Judy Wong, Director-General and Mr. Albert Yeh, First Secretary on Home Assignment of Central Taiwan Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited overseas medical mission of CCH and discussed for further cooperation.
  • On February 4th, Mr. Tommy Kambu Kunji, Representative and Mr. Albert Kopeap, Deputy Representative of Papua New Guinea Trade Office in Taiwan visited Overseas Medical Mission Center of CCH and discussed for further medical network.
  • On February 14th, Prof. Chun-Wei Remen Lin, Dean of Management College of Asia University and Mr. Wen- Sheng Wang, President of Taiwan Africa International Service Association visited Dr. Nina, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center of CCH, to discuss how to replicate and scale up the successful international cooperation models to developing countries, and the further collaboration in New South-bound or Africa countries.
  • On March 18th, in the cooperation with GMISS and AMATA Corporation, Changhua Christian Hospital donated a 40-ft container to Namor District Hospital and Louang Namtha Province Hospital of Laos.
  • On April 22nd, CCH continues to collaborate with AMATA in Thai to support the remote hospitals in Laos. CCH started working with AMATA in 2019 to build the capacity of rural area hospitals in Laos, including medical personnel training and equipment donation. In 2020, even during the COVID-19 crisis, CCH and AMATA decided to continue supporting this program and donate a 40-ft container to Luang Namtha Province Hospital and Namor District Hospital to strengthen the hospital functions and improve the quality of care. The container has been delivered to both hospitals in mid-April and acknowledged by the hospital directors as well.
  • On April 24th, CCH, Metal Industries Research and Development Centre (MIRDC), Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TITRA), and Taipei Computer Association (TCA) co-host the webinar series, in response to COVID-19 in Taiwan and Smart Healthcare Technology.
  • On April 30th, Dr. Lee Roy Chun, Deputy Director of Taiwan WTO and RTA Center, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), shared “The Likely Economic Impact of COVID-19 on Global and Southeast Asia Countries” via webinar APP.
  • On May 6th, Dr. Susan Chang, the Director of Nursing Department of CCH, was invited as one of speakers by UMY (Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta), Indonesia Nursing Department to share how CCH fights COVID-19 at their series webinars which main theme is “Nurses’ Talk - Nurse Practitioners Experiences during COVID-19”.
  • On May 8th, CCH held health online seminars during the pandemic period. Ms. Lin-Chia-Chin, the CEO of CCH Healthcare System International Nutrition Department presented the topic "Healthy Diet to Promote Immunity against Epidemic Disease".
  • On May 13th, Dr. Lee Kwo-Whei, Superintendent of Yuanlin Christian Hospital, shared “How a Smart Hospital Responds to and Manages the COVID-19” via webinar APP.
  • On May 20th, Dr. Tsai Song-Yen, the Superintendent of International Cancer Recovery e-Hospital of CCH, was invited to share his personal treasure experiences on fighting cancer by using his professional study and researches as the topic “How to increase Immunity by Regimen”.
  • On May 25th, acknowledgement for Thai-Taiwan enterprises COVID-19 epidemic response task force team donated the medical materials to CCH cooperative hospitals, Thasala Hospital and Phrasaeng Hospital to relief the shortage of medical supplies and protect the medical staffs as well as patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On May 29th, Dr. Yeh, the Director of Health Bureau of Changhua County, shared his experiences in implementing central strategies in epidemic prevention in accordance with local situations with health officials and medical professionals in Southeast Asia countries.
  • On June 2nd, in the cooperation with GMISS and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Papua New Guinea, CCH donated two 20-ft containers to Arawa Hospital and Buka Hospital in Papua New Guinea to build the capacity of both hospitals and improve the quality of healthcare service.
  • On June 3rd, acknowledgement for Emerald Thailand donated the Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) to CCH cooperative hospitals, Overbrook Hospital and McCormick Hospital to relief the shortage of medical supplies and protect the medical staffs as well as patients safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On June 9th, in the cooperation with Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Myanmar, Changhua Christian Hospital donated one 40-ft containers including hospital trolleys, patients transfer beds, height and weight scale, and waiting chairs, etc. to Mawlamyine Christian Leprosy Hospital in Myanmar to build it capacity and improve the quality of healthcare service.
  • On June 11th, Prof. Chen Hsiu-hsi, Deputy Dean of Public Health College of National Taiwan University was invited by CCH to join “The response to COVID-19 in Taiwan and Smart Healthcare Technology” series online seminar and share the topic of “Big Data Monitoring, Analysis and Forecast about COVID-19 Pandemic” with professionals and researchers from Southeast Asia countries.
  • On June 18th, CCH invited imedtac Co., Ltd., Markstein Sichtec Medical Corp, and Iron Force Industrial CO., LTD. to present as the topic “Smart Products and Technology for COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention”, share how their products being applied to protecting medical personnel from getting infected in the most common scenarios from quarantine area, operation theaters and wards in the COVID-19 outbreak period.
  • On June 19th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center of CCH, was invited by Institute for National Policy Research to share the international medical cooperation of CCH in Taiwan Religion on Social Development and International Cooperation Conference.
  • On June 24th, CCH invited Huijia Health Life Technology Co., Ltd, ThinkCloud Technology Co., Ltd, and LIPS Corp. to share how their products being applied to protect health workers from getting infected in the common scenarios from long-term care organizations, quarantine areas and wards in the COVID-19 outbreak period and help them provide care to patients continuously.
  • On July 3rd, the last session on the main theme of “The Response to COVID-19 in Taiwan and Smart Healthcare Technology” was held. Dr. Susan Chang, Director of Nursing Department of CCH and Dr. Sasamon Srisuthisak, Nursing Technical Officer, Nursing Division, Office of the Permanent Secretary of MOPH in Thailand were invited to talk about the importance and roles of nurses in fighting the pandemic.
  • On July 15th, for 2020 TCMA activity, two medical students from National Taiwan University and Taipei Medical University, visited Overseas Medical Mission Center office to learn CCH overseas medical missionary and service experiences.
  • On July 19th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, CCH shared the experience in cooperation with NSP countries on smart healthcare and medical tourism at 2020 Taiwan Association of Family Medicine Annual Meeting.
  • On July 27th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, CCH was invited to join the meeting hosted by Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU) to discuss the feasibility of international cooperation with Niewdana Leszek, the Vice President and professors of related colleges of FJCU.
  • On August 10th, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Health & Welfare NSP Project Office (CIER) co-hosted the “NSP Achievement in Medical Industry Seminar” to share the experience on "Post-epidemic Era: Resilience in Taiwan International Medical Service" and " Healthcare Industry and Medical Cooperation in New Southbound Countries" at TICC. Dr. Mu-Kuan CHEN, the Superintendent of CCH, and Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center were both invited as the event speakers.
  • From August 13th to 14th, CCH and NCKUH co-hosted the "Encounter Thailand and India" study tour and invited a total of 15 Master or Ph. D. students and in-service staffs from different medical-related departments.
  • On August 19th, CCH, Department of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy in Ministry of Health and Welfare (MoHW), Taiwan and Institute of Thai Traditional Medicine, Department of Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM), MoPH Thailand co-hosted the online seminar with the topic “Does Traditional and Alternative Medicine Work in COVID-19 Prevention?".
  • On August 20th, Ms. Nannatee Wiboonchutikula, the Director, Ms. Siraporn Chintrakulrat, the Deputy Director and Mr. Dhirasak Thienthanathanthon, the First Assistant in Int’l Trade of Thai Trade Office, Department of International Trade Promotion(DITP), Ministry of Commerce, Thailand visited Overseas Medical Mission Center of CCH and discussed for further business network and cooperation.
  • On August 28th, CCH co-hosted with the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) to organize the "2020 Sleep and Respiratory Care in Clinical Practice and Business Matching Workshop".
  • On September 25th, Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) was invited by Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital (HTCH) and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines to co-host the online seminar on “COVID-19 Prevention in Taiwan-Controlling the Wildfire: Prevention & Management of COVID-19 Pandemic in Taiwan”. This seminar attracted around 150 participants to join and interact with two infection control specialists.
  • On September 28th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, was invited to join the meeting hosted by Overseas Community Affairs Council to share CCH international cooperative experiences in Africa as well as the opportunity for Taiwanese NGOs and entrepreneurs in Africa.
  • From October 5th to 6th, Staff of Overseas Medical Mission Center, OMMC, participated in the “2020 Global NGO Forum on International Development”, jointly sponsored by Taiwan Alliance in International Development, TaiwanAID and Institute for National Policy Research, INPR, from October 5th to 6th in Taipei and gained fruitful results. With the theme of “Inclusive Partnership between Government and Civil Society in International Development”, the virtual conference invited 37 INGO leaders and 16 Taiwanese counterparts, who made presentations on a wide range of topics. OMMC Executive Director Dr. Nina Kao moderated the panel discussion on “Challenge and Opportunity in Government-Civil Society Partnership” session.
  • On October 13th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, was invited to join the Church and Society Committee meeting hosted by The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan to share CCH overseas medical work and exchange the experience of humanitarian aid. Participants visited Overseas Medical Mission Center after the meeting.
  • To acknowledgment, the contribution of civil societies (CSOs) to the international development and cooperation and expanding Taiwan’s soft power, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosting the party for “The 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Department of NGO International Affairs, MOFA” on October 14, and issued the Contribution Awards for different characters of NGOs. The Overseas Medical Mission Center of Changhua Christian Hospital is the only hospital in Taiwan to be awarded the “Outstanding Contribution Award” in the field of medicine and public health, to recognize and affirm the overseas works and contribution of CCH in the promotion of international medical cooperation and humanitarian assistance. The award was presented by Joseph Wu, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and received by Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, CCH.
  • On October 19th, delegation of the Republic of Somaliland Representative Office in Taiwan led by the Representative, H. E. Amb. Mohamed Hagi, to visit Changhua Christian Hospital(CCH), CCH Children Hospital as well as Yuanlin Christian Hospital to discuss for further networks in medical cooperation among CCH, NGOs, Somaliland, and Taiwan.
  • On October 29th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, was invited as one of speakers to join the “Online Taiwan Expo in Thailand 2020-Health Industry Forum” hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRI), to share the smart hospital and international medical experience of CCH.
  • On November 5th, Vice President Dr. Lai Ching-te sent a letter to CCH Overseas Medical Mission Center to acknowledge the center undertaking the New Southbound Policy program during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as online seminar, online training courses and medical equipment donation for remote hospitals.
  • On November 19th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, was invited as one of speakers to join the “Taiwan and Malaysia Joining Hands in Bringing Greater Health to Life” Webinar” hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRI), to share the smart hospital and international medical service of CCH.
  • From November 20th to 21st, in line with the NSP of government, CCH and NTUH co-hosted the study tour and invited a total of 4 doctors and 11 Master or Ph. D. students from different medical-related departments. All of them are from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines. The program activity included New Southbound Health Center visiting, smart hospitals visiting and experience learning in COVID-19 pandemic prevention as well as rapid test technology. The cultural trip was also arranged in the program. We appreciate Excelsior Bio-System, Inc., imedtac Company Limited and TIRI, NAR Labs, helping the students have a better understanding of the implementation of smart healthcare in Taiwan.
  • On November 23th, in cooperation with Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Myanmar, Changhua Christian Hospital donated PPE and other medical materials to the southern COVID-19 quarantine center of Myanmar Ministry of Health and Sports to strengthen the personal protection equipment of frontline workers and fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • On November 30th, Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) and School of Nursing of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta(UMY), Indonesia, co-host the online course for “HIV/AIDS Patient Care.” Ns. Ni-Hsuan Lee, HIV/AIDS case manager of the Infection Control Center of CCH, was invited as a lecturer to share the topic of “Introduction of HIV/AIDS Management Team in Taiwan”, which included government policy, regulation, and standard of caring for HIV/AIDS patient. The course is undergoing consecutive Indonesian Interpreting. Around 100 students joined the online course and interacted with the lecturer very actively.
  • On December 2nd, Dr. Lee Kwo-Whei, the Superintendent of Yuanlin Christian Hospital, Mr. Philip Hsu, the Director of CCH IT Department, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center of CCH and Mr. Beren Hsieh, the Sales Manager of imedtac joined the online meeting with Mr. Apiwat, the Managing Director of Rangsit University (RSU) Healthcare Co., Ltd., Thailand and its’ IT Department staff, to discuss the Hospital Information System(HIS) construction and smart hospital management and the further cooperation.
  • On December 3rd, Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) and School of Nursing of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta(UMY), Indonesia, co-host the online course for Palliative Care. Ns. Yi-Min Chen, Nursing Department of CCH, was invited as a lecturer to share the “Complementary Therapy in Hospice Care in Taiwan”. The course included how CCH cares for patients with Counselling, Relaxation and meditation, Spiritual practices, Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, Massage, Chinese Herb Medicine and Pet therapy, etc. The course is undergoing consecutive Indonesian Interpreting. Around 100 students joined the online course and interacted with the lecturer very actively.
  • From December 3rd to 6th, Overseas Medical Mission Center, CCH was invited to co-organized the exhibition for the “Taiwan HealthCare Expo- MOHW New Southbound Pavilion” hosted by Ministry of Health and Welfare and Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research.
  • On December 11th, Dr. Nina Kao, the CEO of Overseas Medical Mission Center, was invited as speaker to join the “Taiwan and Russia Join Hands for Smart Healthcare” hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRI), to share the smart hospital management and the response to COVID-19.
  • On December 22nd, Witness by Amb. Chen-Hwa Lou, Representative of Taiwan Representative Office in the Republic of Somaliland. The tele-ceremony of MOU signing between Changhua Christian Hospital, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Edna Adan University & Hospital was held on 22nd December. It's the first medical collaboration project of private sectors between Taiwan and Somaliland. However, this is just a cooperation model. CCH and FJCU are willing to share the experiences and knowledge with more medical professionals and serve more Somaliland people. The contents of MOU including medical materials donation, medical cooperation, and academic cooperation.
  • On December 23rd, Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) and School of Nursing of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Indonesia, co-host the online course for Palliative Care. The course discussed ethical dilemmas, freedom of countries, patient privacy, CCH policy during the pandemic for suspicious cases, etc.
