CCH Wins the Medical Research Excellence Award for Medical Foundations Again — Caring for the Vulnerable, Connecting to the World
Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) has once again been recognized by Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare with the 2025 Medical Assistance Award under the “Medical Research Excellence Award for Medical Foundations,” received on behalf of CCH by Honorary Vice Superintendent Dr. Chih-Chung Chou. Since its founding, CCH has upheld “medical assistance” as its core mission—providing emergency education, supporting rural and disadvantaged patients, offering free inter-hospital transfers for critically ill children, delivering pro bono legal-medical services, and advancing international medical cooperation. This year’s awarded programs span rural communities, offshore islands, and international partners, reflecting CCH’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility. Dr. Chou noted that CCH supports over 400 emergency medical services for large events annually, provides free transfers for critically ill children, brings combined legal and medical outreach to Matsu, and assists Somaliland, Papua New Guinea, and Thailand in strengthening medical capacity—bringing the warmth of Taiwan’s healthcare to the world.
