Special Session for Nurses- “The Response to COVID-19 in Taiwan and Smart Healthcare Technology”

To share the experience of COVID-19 epidemic prevention, CCH organized serious webinars since April 24th on the main theme of “The Response to COVID-19 in Taiwan and Smart Healthcare Technology”. There are 8 different topics that have been shared and the last session was held on July 3rd. Two speakers were invited to talk about the importance and roles of nurses in fighting the pandemic. Dr. Susan Chang, Director of Nursing Department of CCH, was invited as the first speaker to introduce how CCH took care of COVID-19 patients with the highest standard of prevention for potential nosocomial and treatment so that all COVID-19 patients in CCH have been discharged. Besides, how to care for the physical, mental, and spiritual of nurses were also shared. The other speaker was Dr. Sasamon Srisuthisak, Nursing Technical Officer, Nursing Division, Office of the Permanent Secretary of MOPH in Thailand, also share the role and response of Thai nurses at different levels, Thai government’s response modes, what’s the knowledge and skills need to be prepared, and the key factors for successfully to fight COVID-19, etc.. At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Wang Hsiu-Hung, President of Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA), and Mrs. Sirima Leelawongs, Director of Nursing Division, MOPH of Thailand were invited to join and give opening remarks.

The reactors included Dr. Urai Jaraeprapal, Dean of School of Nursing, Walailak University in Thailand, Dr. Fitri Arofiati, Head of Master of Nursing Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) in Indonesia and Ns. Irna Kartina, Chairman of Carrier and Development Center, Universitas Kusuma Husada Surakarta (UKH) in Indonesia were invited to feedback and present what’s the core competency to educate and train nursing students as the professional and humanity nurses so that they can commit to their career while taking care for the patient. More than 120 nursing faculties, students and registered nurses from Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and Malaysia joined the online seminar and interacted with speakers very actively. Also, near 150 participants viewed the online seminar through Facebook live stream. The series online seminars on coronavirus prevention and smart health care and technology hosted by CCH has achieved the perfect ending.
