The Center for Responsible AI in Healthcare at Changhua Christian Hospital was established in 2024 with support from the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "Next-Generation Digital Health Platform – Three National AI Centers" initiative. Officially launched on October 7, the Center aims to promote the practical application of artificial intelligence in healthcare, ensuring that technological development aligns with the principles of Responsible AI while enhancing medical quality and patient safety.
Clinical AI applications face numerous challenges, including bias, privacy concerns, cybersecurity risks, lack of transparency, and performance degradation over time. The Center for Responsible AI in Healthcare is dedicated to addressing these issues by establishing governance frameworks that comply with cybersecurity and data privacy standards. The Center advocates for disclosing key information such as AI models, datasets, and performance metrics, and promotes explainability analysis to enhance transparency. Additionally, the Center ensures the continued reliability of AI systems through model monitoring and validation. Its ultimate goal is to advance the real-world implementation of AI in healthcare and foster the growth of the domestic AI ecosystem.
